The Dr. John Samuel Phillipson Jr. Scholarship
The Dr. John Samuel Phillipson Jr. Scholarship Fund was established through a gift from the estate of Dr. John Phillipson. Dr. Phillipson taught English for 39 years, 25 of those years at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ´«Ã½. He founded The Thomas Wolfe Review in 1977. This international journal was funded by ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ´«Ã½. This merit scholarship serves as a tribute to Dr. Phillipson's unwavering devotion to students and the field of English.
Prize: TBD, but historically around $650.
Who can enter:
This endowed scholarship will be awarded to a meritorious student enrolled full-time in the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences' Department of English, as part of the Scholarships for Excellence program.
